But the story, music and the things you'll be doing in the first game are pretty amazing. It's mostly due to the fact that the 1st Builders was created with PS Vita in mind, which has much less power than Switch. The first game is a lot of fun, but it's kind of limited. ![]() And i don't regret getting it on switch either. I really fell in love with it, more than I thought i would. But if you just care more for solo play and story, I don't think it's that bad. I personally like the switch cuz of the portability but if you plan on visiting other people's towns (like a dream suite kinda) and they have very full builds, the frame rate goes wayyy down. But if you're sensitive, you might have to consider the ps4 version if you can. I'm not too sensitive to it so it's fine. I dont think the demo is a good indicator of how amazing the game is.Īlso, one thing to note is I've been noticing frame rate drops. The intro tutorial in the game is a bit tedious but once you finish that, the game vastly opens up and improves. I also hear that the first demo is much better than the second one. Of course it's up to you, but I can 100% recommend DQB2. The games don't follow the same story and from what I hear, Builders 2 is a vast improvement. Honestly, you can totally skip the first one. "You just want to finish that task and then you get the next task and you're like 'Eh, I could finish that before bed' and you just keep going going and going until your switch tells you your battery is dying and it is 4 in the morning and you should probably go to bed." One reviewer said it perfectly on how this game is so addicting: Story-wise I love the second game, it really had me hooked and took me about 60-70 hours to complete, definitely worth my money.īut this is just my opinion, you might want to read more opinions and reviewsĪnd I now remember why I rushed the main story again. It might be better to start with the first and get the second later. In conclusion, the second games spoils you rotten XD I've heard a few say that the second game has more RPG elements into it, which is a big plus for me. So far I heard, it's a bit more tedious, since your tools and weapons wear and break, so you need to keep making new ones, you have to fix your base after boss fights (in DQB2 your villagers repair your base) and inventory space is more limited (I have almost no need for chests at the moment). I haven't played the first game, nor am I planning on doing so now. It works perfectly fine, so unless you like to collect the original boxes, you can buy it this way. I bought the digital version, because it was a Saterday that I played the demo, and it would take till Tuesday to receive a physical copy, and I didn't want to wait. For example, for Furrowfield, I sent Bonanzo away (so annoying) and finally brought Saffron back to my island with me.I'd say definitely worth, but then again, I am currently addicted to it :') I soak my every free hour into this game. The part of the item that lists "ALL" npcs will show the named characters on the story islands you left behind the first time, allowing you to move them to IOA just by selecting from a menu. (You can't rename like Lulu or Malroth for example, but more generic NPCs and animals can be renamed.) If the character is originally from a story island, the move option will have a selection that lets you move them back to the original story island. I don't know if you have the island roster item yet, but it lets you move your NPCs around to different parts of IOA and add/remove them from your party easily. ![]() A couple of them were okay and the ones I would have chosen, but it also usually makes you bring back the most annoying ones. ![]() ![]() Yeah, like I didn't like most of the characters I was forced to bring back from story islands either.
